Adobe announced version 5.5 of the Creative Suite. Not all applications are updated; Photoshop is among the applications that didn’t get an update. One new thing is that there will be three iOS (iPad) apps that can be used interactively with Photoshop running on a computer, and there will be a developers tool (SDK) to write your own iOS app that does this. Also new is the possibility to rent the applications rather than buy the Suite. This should be attractive to people who only need to use Photoshop for a relatively short time, but I wonder who would need Photoshop only temporarily but does have the skills to use it. Photoshop is not like a car that one rents when in a different country, and which anyone can drive who has a drivers license. Perhaps it’s interesting for people working on a short project in a company.
