Megapixel madness

Anyone who thought that the ‘Megapixel race’ for compact cameras was over, is going to be disappointed once again. Both Canon and Sony have announced new compact cameras recently, with again increasing Megapixel numbers; now up to 16 Mpixel. Apparently the marketing boys are still in charge of product development and they are still at the ‘more is better’ level. The question which consumer is waiting for a 16 Mpixel compact camera is not asked, let alone answered.

Update: Also Panasonic and Fujifilm announce 16 Mpixel cameras…
