Giraffe twins?
Apparently, giraffes seldom have twins, but it does happen occasionally. On our latest trip to South Luangwa, Zambia, we may have seen giraffe twins in the wild. Two young giraffes of the same size we taken care of by one female all the time. The two young were always together, and when there was a mature female with them it was always only one. That particular female also showed affection to both young giraffes, not just one of them, as these photos clearly show. Unfortunately we never saw them suckling, so we can’t be absolutely sure, but it does look like we’ve seen something very unusual indeed.
