Ask people what the southern-most tip of Africa is called, and nine out of ten will either have no idea or answer you ‘Cape of Good hope’. Especially Dutch people will ‘know’ this, because of the unique relationship between the Netherlands and South Africa. Cape of Good Hope isn’t the southern-most tip of Africa however. That point is about 150 km more to the east, and is called ‘Cape L’Agulhas’. This is where the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean meet, so this is the place where you can swim from one ocean to the next (although it was a bit too cold to actually do that when I was there).
