Animated GIF images are getting more and more popular again, because they can add a nice touch of motion to websites without the need of video and because they can run in a never-ending loop. Usually people create these images from a series of photos, just like the frames of a video, but a nice alternative is to create them from a single image. There is a (far too expensive) application for it, but photographer Diako Mardanbegi created a series of actions for Photoshop CC that work just as well. He kindly made these actions available as ‘donorware’, meaning you decide if you pay for it and how much. Take a look at his actions here. The animated waterfall below was made with these actions.
