Adobe Photoshop Lightroom tip: Add haze with Dehaze
The new ‘Dehaze’ function in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC2015.1 is very powerful to remove haze from an image, but did you know you can also add haze with it? If you simply move the slider to a negative value you will get a hazy effect, but often that isn’t very convincing. The whole image becomes washed out. Here’s how you can use ‘Dehaze’ more effectively for adding haziness: Set the Dehaze slider to about -60 and then use the Blacks slider to get back some pure black pixels in the image. Finally, add +200 K to the White Balance of the image, to compensate for the blue tint that Dehaze tends to add. The combined result is more subtle, but also more natural.
