Adobe has updated Photoshop Lightroom CC2015 to CC2015.1, with a new function called ‘Dehaze’. Although it would seem more in place in the ‘Basic’ adjustment block, you can find it under ‘Effects’. Dehaze is a simple slider, which enables you to counter the effects of a hazy day, so it works mainly in landscape shots. You can also add haze if you want to. The effect looks very much like simply lowering the Blacks slider, but there are subtle differences (just try it). Dehaze also makes the image somewhat darker, so you will often have to use it in combination with a slight increase in Exposure or Shadows.

Lightroom 6 (perpetual license, not Creative Cloud subscription) users beware: there is no Lightroom 6.1 update. Dehaze will not be added to Lightroom 6, you will have to wait for Lightroom 7. Adobe says that this is due to certain US regulations, which make it illegal to add new functionality to a non-paid update. I doubt that is the real reason. Lightroom 5.7 added Lightroom Mobile synchronization, and that was a free update too.
