Retouching: but how far?
In this day and age of Photoshop, we can clean up any photo and make it look pristine. In landscape photos, I obviously remove things like soda cans or other rubbish, and occasionally I also remove electricity poles and things like that. How far should one go with photos of places people visit? In this photo, taken recently in Sicily, I removed some signs and two lamp posts, because they spoiled the church. That church was used in one of the Godfather movies by the way. But now people may be disappointed when they go there after seeing my picture, because they do expect the same pristine church with no distracting signs or poles…
