Shooting from a helicopter is great fun, especially if the doors are left off so you don’t get reflections in the windows. If you have to shoot through the windows, wear something dark to minimize those reflections. Most camera settings are quite normal, but there is one thing you must realize. A helicopter can vibrate a lot, especially if you do shoot without doors. Depending on the type of helicopter, this can be moderate to extreme. As you are shooting from a relatively long distance, you don’t need a large depth of field however. Consequently, shoot with a high shutter speed, preferably 1/1000 sec or even faster. Just shoot wide open if you want to keep your ISO setting as low as you can, but if you want to stop down a little, increase the ISO rather than compromise with the shutter speed.
