For some time it looked like the DSLR camera was going the way of the Dodo, at least for entry level DSLR cameras. The Compact System Camera (CSC), a camera with interchangeable lenses but no mirror, is getting more and more popular as a lightweight and small alternative to the DSLR. Canon may have changed that today, with the introduction of the EOS-100D (Rebel SL1 in the USA). This is a true DSLR camera with an optical view finder, but its dimensions and weight are remarkable. It’s smaller than the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH3 for example, a CSC camera with a electronic view finder and a smaller sensor.
