Using a polarizer in a forest
A quick tip: A polarizing filter is often used to remove reflections from a water surface. Another use is to increase the contrast between the blue sky and white clouds (although it’s easy to do that in post-processing too). A much lesser known use for a polarizing filter is when you are taking pictures in a forest. The leaves of trees and bushes reflect light, especially when they are wet, but not only when they are wet. Using a polarizer removes this reflection and so increases the color saturation of the leaves. This picture was taken in the Alerce Andino National Park in Chile.
