Working on my 360° panorama photos anyway, gave me a chance to also use the images to create some super wide angle ‘normal’ photos, by stitching three or four of the eight shots. The new ‘Adaptive Wide Angle’ filter in Photoshop CS6 gave me the chance to straighten the results, so that there are no curved lines in the final photo. The trick is to decide where one can cheat on the viewer. After all, a 180° wide angle has a curved view by definition, so some compromises are inevitable. You can see this in the floor mat for example. In reality, the front and back sides of the mat are parallel to the sides of the bed, but in this photo they are not. I think that the results are pretty convincing however.
