Serengeti Highway cancelled

Very good news from Tanzania. The highly controversial ‘Serengeti Highway’ project, a road planned across the north of the Serengeti National Park, has been cancelled. The road would have disrupted the wildebeest migration, one of the world’s most famous wildlife spectacles. The Tanzania government announced that a new road will be built, but that road will not cross the borders of the Serengeti National Park.
