Sony stops producing DSLR cameras. That may sound more dramatic than it is, but it is a remarkable step. Sony announced that all future Alpha cameras will be based on its ‘translucent mirror’ concept, meaning that these cameras are not DSLR cameras, but cameras with an electronic view finder. That is a daring step and I wonder whether its a good step. Even though electronic view finders have improved over the years, the optical view finder is still superior and that’s why I wonder if all Alpha users are happy with this announcement. I know two parties which are probably happy: Canon and Nikon.
