As expected, during the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas a large number of new compact cameras was introduced. And, also as expected, most of these cameras were pretty boring and rather uninspiring. An exception is the Casio TRYX, a camera with a very remarkable design. The practical usefulness of this scissor-like design remains to be seen, but there is one practical application that is very nice. If you open the camera about 90 degrees, as shown on the picture, it will function as its own tripod. You can put it on every flat surface and it will remain upright, so you can use the self timer to take a photo that includes yourself. It can also hang from a doorknob. Very neat.
